For nearly a hundred years, the Dauphiné, the county of Savoy, the county of Geneva and several small principalities (Thoire-Villars, Beaujeu, Valentinois, Faucigny ...) will clash in a merciless feudal war. In 1325, during one of countless military campaigns, the Count of Savoy, Edward the Liberal besieged Varey Castle with his allies.
