The Territorial Defence Force - TDF (Polish: Wojska Obrony Terytorialnej – WOT) is the fifth military branch of the Polish Armed Forces, following Land Forces, Air Force, Navy and Special Forces.
The force is made up of professional and part-time volunteer soldiers, forming part of the country's defence and deterrence system.

The Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) are intended to support operational troops in defense activities and to stabilize the military security situation throughout the country.
WOTs are also an important element of the state's defense system. The mission of "Territorials" is to defend and support local communities.
In times of peace, this includes: preventing and combating the effects of natural disasters and conducting rescue operations in crisis situations.
However, during the war they will support operational troops in the zone of direct operations, and outside it - a leading force.
