The battle at Klushino, fought at 4 July 1610 was one of the most brilliant victories in the history of Poland. Army of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth under the hetman Żółkiewski with about 3000 men met the forces of Moscow and western mercenaries with at last 18 000 men. Devastating victory was possible thanks to the winged hussars, heavy cavalry that was unstoppable for the enemies.
